General Program Meeting: Matt Carter speaking on sports photography.

The Nevada Camera Club is pleased to welcome Matt Carter for the March Program meeting. When the electric sign company for which Matt Carter was a designer closed during the economic downturn in 2008, Matt used his severance package to purchase a Nikon D-700, several lenses, and flash. Until then, he had been photographing the sports in which his children were participating. In 2007, Matt had already sold his first sports photograph to Velo News, a bicycle racing magazine, and was hooked on live action photography.
By 2009 he was the photographer at Chapel of the Flowers, the premier wedding chapel on the Las Vegas Strip where he fine tuned his craft as a photographer. It was then that he started LV Action Images. His client list includes Nike, Taylormade, Golf Week Magazine, Toyota, Adidas, Vegas Seven Magazine, the NBA, the New York Post and myriad sporting events.
Matt was born in Reno and is a native of Carson Valley, Nevada. He studied industrial design at Brigham Young University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1993. He has lived in Las Vegas since 1996 where he has been actively involved in bicycle advocacy and was a member of the Green Valley Cyclists. He has photographed sporting events in which his and his friends have participated.
