General Program Meeting:

Larry Hanna is presenting his personal collection of distinctive images of ghost towns to the Nevada Camera Club on September 9th. Larry opened his photography business in Las Vegas in 1976, after working in Southern California for five years. Although skilled in all genres of photography his current major interests are in architectural and food pho-tography. He photographs everything including hotels and resorts situated all over the country, interiors and exteriors of commercial and residential properties, as well as mouth-watering images of culinary presentations. He has been awarded the Master of Photography and Craftsman Photographer degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. Larry has served as President of the Professional Photographers of Nevada and the Nevada chapter of the Advertising Photographers of America. He was named Professional Photographer of the Year in Nevada four times.
Larry has long been intrigued by the “ghost towns” and old mining towns of Neva-da. These towns were built quickly and were thriv-ing, with banks and newspa-pers, only to be basically deserted within a few years after the mining diminished. A couple of years ago he began visiting a few to take pictures for his own satisfaction. In his presentation, he will take you on a couple of his trips and de-scribe how he edited the photos to get the feel he was after.
His extraordinary images of people and lifestyles capture everyone, from entertainers at work to people he makes beautiful and interesting. His two favorite things to photo-graph are ghost towns and beautiful women; not neces-sarily in that order! In some of these ghost towns, he has combined both. Plan to be transported by Larry’s images of the past.
