Kassidy Whetstone is the Curator of Library, Manuscripts, and Photographs in the Cahlan Research Library at the Nevada State Museum, Las Vegas (NSMLV). Born and raised in Las Vegas, Kassidy specializes in western public history and collections management. She received bachelor's degrees in history and criminal justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). She also received a master's degree in United States history with a specialization in public history from UNLV, and another master's degree in library and information science from Louisiana State University with a graduate certificate in archival studies. In her current role as curator at NSMLV, she serves as department head to oversee archival manuscript and photograph collections while stewarding preservation of materials and public access. She has most recently been recognized for the library's photo digitization program, which has increased preservation, digitization, and outreach efforts among the museum's historic photograph collections.
