Hello I"m Mark Newman
I'm a native Las Vegan, I was born here in 1961. I manage Rec World Outdoor Power Equipment, a family owned & operated business since 1972. I purchased my first SLR in Oct. 2010 two months after camping in both Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, a Nikon D7000. I could say both park's with their unique geological formations, ubundant wildlife and amazing scenery inspired me to purchase a beginner DSLR. or I could say I was intrigued & influenced by the countless number of photoghraphers running around with their big cameras & big glass, but it was actually a heart pounding face to face with a grey wolf along the snake river with all the forementioned that finally got me. With no shooting skills, I used my wifes compact camera to capture the wolfs image, it turned out pretty bad. I had no idea what I was in for when purchasing my first DSLR but something within said I had to have one. Thankfully I found the Nevada Camera Club in 2013. Here my creative side is learning how to artistically compose a good image then enhance it with a digital dark room. My technically trained side is learning how to master my camera's controls & settings for each shooting situation. The bonus has been establishing new freindships with others who love photography as much as I do. I also love the outdoors so I pack my DSLR for all my outdoor adventures including camping, alpine skiing, hiking, bicycling and water sports.
