<p>General Program Meeting: David J Crewe</p><h3>"A Fashion Photography Professional"</h3><p><br />Just as a paintbrush is inanimate without the painter, the camera is without life until the photographer bestows it with his/her own vision, artistry and point of view. David J Crewe embodies this principle of photography with his varied body of work. The Canadian-born photographer tried his hand at multiple industries including Music, Legal, Information Technology, and Film before picking up a camera; each industry adding to his expertise behind the lens.<br />As soon as David was capable of creating "real" photographs he hit the ground running. His thirst for knowledge lead him into working with the American Society of Media Professionals, the Professional Photographers of America, and the American Photographic Artists. After helping run Phlearn, (an educational outlet online), for several years, David moved to shooting Freelance for himself, quickly gaining the attention and mentoring of renown photographers and retouches such as Clay Cook, Scott Bourne, Lindsay Adler, and Pratik Naik. His career and skill lead to him creating educational content for Manfrotto & Macphun, as well as writing for Photofocus, Fstoppers, and Resource Magazine. David has also lent his prowess to charitable organizations such as Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego and Will Ferrell's Cancer for College.<br />When it comes to the fashion and editorial realm, David took to it like a fish to water. With his lens he has been able to shoot countless designer's work, fashion models, and has even had his Film Noir series serve as inspiration for an episode of Warehouse 13 on the SyFy network.<br />David has certainly, and will continue to make a mark on the world of photography and relishes any opportunity he has to spread his knowledge.</p>
