Specific Interest Groups are designed for Nevada Camera Club members to share knowledge and learning opportunities within specific photographic disciplines. Group members meet to share technical knowledge, evaluate the images of their peers and schedule future projects and field trips. Each group's scheduled events are communicated to the general membership through the NCC monthly newsletter to allow all interested members to participate. The primary goal of Specific Interest Groups is to create a cooperative atmosphere of inspiration, motivation and a higher level of learning which is geared to the needs of individual members. Activation of each Specific Interest Group is dependent upon having a number of participating members and the leadership of a chairperson.

Nevada Camera Club Specific Interest Group participation is restricted to NCC members. Scheduled Specific Interest Group dates are announced in the NCC monthly newsletter and also listed in the NCC Annual Calendar which is located in the Nevada Camera Club web site Members Only section. Information about becoming an NCC member is available on the Nevada Camera Club web site Join NCC page.

Audio-Visual Presentations

The Audio-Visual Presentations Group utilize a series of images to communicate a single purpose or tell a story through the use of single or multiple projection techniques. The presentations may be visuals to support a lecture or a complete, stand-alone program with recorded music and narration.

Beginning Photography

The Beginning Photography Group is designed to meet the needs of members who require general basics in photography. It also provides orientation for new members and communicates goals and procedures for Nevada Camera Club monthly competitions.

Creative Photography

Members of the Creative Photography Group work with methods which alter the appearance of the image so that it is substantially different from the way it would appear to the human eye prior to being photographed. Some of the methods include multiple exposures, montages, high contrast derivations, Sabattier, grain reticulation, zoom and camera movement exposures, adding color to black and white images and adding textures and patterns.

Digital Imaging

Members of the Digital Imaging Group study and practice the use of digital imaging techniques as a tool in their photographic process to produce prints, slides or electronic images.

Exhibitors Study Group

Participants in the Exhibitors Study Group acquire and share information on acceptance requirements for various exhibitions, photography competitions and galleries. Their studies include subject matter, image communication, expression, presentation, judging criteria and scoring procedures.

Exploring PSA

Members of the Exploring PSA Group take advantage of the many camera club services offered by the Photographic Society of America. Access to these services provides members with a learning experience of international scope.

Motion Picture/Video

The goals of the Motion Picture/Video Group are similar to those of the Audio-Visual Presentations Group but participants in this group work within the disciplines of motion picture and video.

Nature/Wildlife

Participants in the Nature/Wildlife use the photographic process to depict observations from any of the branches of natural history except anthropology and archeology. Members of this group, through their personal actions, seek to foster honesty of photographic presentation, respect for our diminishing wildlife, concern for its well-being and conservation of its natural heritage.

Photo Travel

Members of the Photo Travel Group depict the story of travel, the culture of people and their environment.

Photojournalism

Participants in the Photojournalism Group produce story telling photographs suitable for news media or publication in periodicals which may include documentary, contemporary life, illustrative, sports news and human interest.

Portrait/Fashion/Glamour

Portrait/Fashion/Glamour Group members study and practice the disciplines required to photograph people when the photographer is in control of the direction of light, light ratio, shadow edge definition, subject pose, setting and scene.

Stereo (3D)

Stereo Group members study and practice the disciplines required to produce 3-D images through the use of stereo photography.

Still Life/Table Top

Still Life/Table Top Group participants study and practice the disciplines required to arrange and photograph inanimate objects when the photographer is in control of the direction of light, light ratio, shadow edge definition, relationship of objects to each other and viewpoint.
