The Beginners Group will have their first two meetings of the year on January 31 and February 7. Both will be in the Rendezvous Room at Sunrise Hospital from 1:00-4:30 PM. Personally, I dislike the titles beginner, intermediate, etc. etc. I have been a serious photographer for well over 45 years now. Do I know it all? Absolutely not! I'm an absolute rookie at macro photography. I've never tried it so I'm a beginner, too. For those of you who might wish to brush up on some things, learn something new, or simply explore a different approach to photography, please do not be shy about showing up to the "Beginners Group" meetings. You are also welcome. Newbies to the NCC, do not feel "new" or "beginner". Simply feel like you are on a journey and at some point in time we must start that journey. Intermediates, Advanced, and Master photographers, you are also welcome for I gear my presentations to the audience at the time. However, all of you should bear with me just a bit if I gear things to the newbies in the journey, just a little bit, and remember it wasn't long ago you were the newbie on the journey. Come with the attitude you might learn something new yourself. What you learn might not be photographic in nature but elsewhere for all of us should remember photography is not just the technical aspects of composing an image but so much more. My approach to teaching things is to simplify the, and make things easier to understand. Photography can be exceptionally technical. I am not. We will have fun, we will engage in "Cameraderie", (yup I know it's spelled wrong, I like this spelling better) and we will become one in the journey. One of my favorite authors, Henry David Thoreau said, "Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake". What's your dream? Come explore with me. I look forward to seeing you!
