Nevada Camera Club hosts eleven monthly photography competitions per year from January through November. The competitions alternate each month between prints and electronic images. NCC members compete in their own peer group skill classification which is categorized into subject groups and also separated into color and monochrome divisions. In addition to the regular subject categories, each monthly competition features a Club Challenge category which has an assigned theme. The images are scored and evaluated by a panel of judges and ribbons are awarded to the highest scoring images in each category. Members also earn merit award points for their competition achievement, making them eligible for additional awards.

Nevada Camera Club monthly competitions provide NCC members with a motivational learning experience and incentive to achieve excellence. Although NCC membership is required to submit images into the monthly competitions, attendance is open to the public and admission is free. The competitions provide an entertaining and inspiring experience for all people who have an interest in photography.
