    Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Mollie Isaacs & Mary Lindhjem presentation — May 13, 2011.
    Mollie Isaacs and Mary Lindhjem will present their program, Silence The C.R.I.T.I.C., at the Nevada Camera Club May 13 Program Meeting. The basic theme of the presentation is to finely hone your photographic skills while always striving to improve and taking delight in what you are presently creating.
     
    Mollie Isaacs is a professional photographer who specializes in nature and macro photography as well as portraiture of children and families. She has photographed many famous faces including Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, jazz musician Wynton Marsalis and actress Meryl Streep. She studied with Ansel Adams, Joyce Tenneson, and others. Mollie is a fourteen time recipient of the Kodak Gallery Award. Her work is in the Permanent Collection of the International Photography Hall of Fame and has been exhibited at Epcot Center in Disney World.
     
    Mary Lindhjem is a professional free-lance photographer who specializes in nature and wildlife photography. Her travels have taken her to Africa, Alaska, Costa Rica and Europe. She has taught photography at the college level and has taught Photoshop and Lightroom to a variety of individuals and groups throughout the United States and abroad. Her fine art photography has been shown in several galleries and her images have been published in several books and magazines.

    Nevada Camera Club 2011 Annual Electronic Image Competition rules & entry form PDF file is available for viewing or printing from the Annual Competition web page and the Club Publications web page. The rules & entry form document will also be distributed in the May 2011 NCC Focal Expressions newsletter and at selected Las Vegas area photographic retailers. The competition is open to the general public and Nevada Camera Club members. Anyone may enter and win.

    Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Richard C. Heckendorf presentation — April 8, 2011.
    Richard C. Heckendorf will present his program, A Potpourri Of Photography In Four Parts, at the Nevada Camera Club April 8 General Meeting. In this program, Rich displays a vast variety of his images recorded from his earliest days as a photographer through the modern day. The images communicate his personal perspective of photography and include photographs of flowers, critters up close and humorously warped photographs.
     
    Richard Heckendorf began feeding his intense interest in photography after joining the Nevada Camera Club in 1985. Over time, Rich became a skilled darkroom worker and later successfully transitioned to computer post processing. As his passion for photographic learning and implementation grew, his spirit of sharing his knowledge with others also grew and was extended to everyone he met who showed an interest in photography. He has served Nevada Camera Club and its members by leading photography field trips, chairing the Beginners Photography Specific Interest Group, judging competitions and evaluating photographs. His exceptional contribution of service to the photographic community and his own photographic achievement earned him the Nevada Camera Club Horizon Award and a life time membership in NCC.

    Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Hal "Bull" Schmitt presentation — March 11, 2011.
    The Nevada Camera Club March 11 Program Meeting features a presentation by Hal "Bull" Schmitt, director and lead instructor at Light Photographic Workshops in Los Osos, California. He will present his program, Lessons from a Fighter Pilot that Make You a Better Photographer. "Bull" is a former United States Navy fighter pilot serving two tours as a USN Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Martin Tyner presentation — February 11, 2011.
    The Nevada Camera Club February 11 Program Meeting features a presentation by Martin Tyner, founder and CEO of the Southwest Wildlife Foundation. Martin will present a program about birds of prey, including where and how to photograph them. He is bringing a golden eagle, a hawk and a falcon. Program attendees are invited to bring a camera and photograph the birds. Martin's presentation includes information about the Southwest Wildlife Foundation's rescue of sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife and their rehabilitation and return to the wild.

    NCC 2010 Photographer of the Year Award Presented. Nevada Camera Club has named Douglas Walsh as the recipient of the prestigious NCC 2010 Photographer of the Year Award. Each year, the Nevada Camera Club member who accumulates the highest total merit award points earned in NCC Monthly Competitions and NCC Sanctioned Competitions is named as the Photographer of the Year.

    Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, George D. Lepp presentation — January 14, 2011.
    George D. Lepp, Canon USA Explorers of Light Group Member, will present his Capture the Possibilities! program at the Nevada Camera Club January 14 General Meeting. George is one of North America's best known outdoor and nature photographers and a leader in the field of digital imaging. His photography is extensively published and exhibited and he is the author of numerous books. George is the field editor of Digital Photo Magazine and Outdoor Photographer Magazine. He is one of the first members of Canon USA Explorers of Light and Print Masters programs. George has presented hundreds of lectures and led workshops all over the world.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Frank Zak presentation — November 12, 2010.
    Frank Zak will present his program, Basic Photoshop Technique, at the Nevada Camera Club November 12 General Meeting. In this program, Frank covers workflow, image sizing and basic techniques for improving images. Frank is a professional photographer residing in Las Vegas, Nevada. He specializes in wedding, portrait, corporate event and product photography. He is highly skilled in the use of photo editing software applications which he uses to further increase the quality and appeal of the images he produces for his clients.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Ralph Nordstrom presentation — October 8, 2010.
    Ralph Nordstrom will present his program, The Photographer as Artist, at the Nevada Camera Club October 8 General Meeting. In this program, Ralph explores the primary commonalities between photographic art and other art forms with the goal of stimulating insight into the artistic process and into our personal growth as artists and photographers. Ralph is a fine art landscape photographer and photography educator. In addition to producing his fine art landscape and nature photographic prints, Ralph conducts three to five day day photography workshops in some of the most photogenic areas of the western United States including Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park and the Napa Valley area in California. Ralph also provides personalized photography training for individuals.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, George Stocking presentation — September 10, 2010.
    George Stocking will present his program, Compositional Power, at the Nevada Camera Club September 10 General Meeting. In this program, George presents an in-depth look at the use of composition to drive movement and drama in our images. George is a professional freelance photographer residing in Phoenix, Arizona. He works regularly as a contract photographer for Arizona Highways. In addition to capturing the natural beauty of the Arizona landscape, George photographs the western United States and Canada. His photographs have been published in numerous national publications including Backpacker, Outdoor Photographer, USGA Golf Journal, Country Magazine, Audubon Calendars, Adventure West, America West Airlines Magazine, Portal Publications, Impact, Towery Publications and Smith Southwestern.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Tom Till presentation — August 13, 2010.
    Internationally renowned landscape photographer Tom Till will present his program, There Was Light: Images, World Landscapes and How They Were Made, at the Nevada Camera Club August 13 General Meeting. Tom's images depict landscape, nature, history and travel subjects worldwide including all fifty states and nearly sixty countries. He is one of America's most published photographers with over 150,000 of his images appearing in print since 1977. Each tabletop set-up illustrates the use of a unique photographic discipline for an expanded learning experience.     Nevada Camera Club 2010 Annual Electronic Image Competition exhibition opening, artists' reception and multimedia presentation — July 13, 2010.
    The Nevada Camera Club 2010 Annual Electronic Image Competition exhibition opening, artists' reception and multimedia presentation will take place at the Las Vegas Clark County Library District Whitney Library on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A multimedia presentation of all competition entries will be shown. Exhibition prints made from the first place entries in each category will be displayed in the gallery along with an exhibition of prints by Nevada Camera Club Photographer of the Year, Gary W. Potts. The public is invited and admission is free. The exhibition continues through September 14, 2010.

Rick will show his images from worldwide locations and, with each image, he will share a photographic technique, digital darkroom tip or a photographic philosophy. Rick Sammon has authored thirty-four books and his images have been published in thousands of newspaper and magazine articles.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Rick Holmes presentation — November 13, 2009.
    Rick Holmes will present his program on panoramic photography using the GigaPan Epic robotic camera mount at the Nevada Camera Club November 13 General Meeting. Rick's presentation includes a demonstration of the capture and post processing of GigaPan images. Las Vegas area panoramic images produced by Rick Holmes using this technique will be shown.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Geri and Wayne Kodey presentation — August 14, 2009.
    Geri and Wayne Kodey will present Down the Colorado and Bypassed Byways at the Nevada Camera Club August 14 General Meeting. The presentation shows their views of the Grand Canyon and the living remains of Route 66.
     
    Geri shows her work from a river rafting expedition into the Grand Canyon on the Colorado River with images of the Canyon from water level and land locations only accessible from the river. Her presentation also includes wide aspects of the canyon from the Toroweap Overlook and photographs of plants and desert bighorn sheep from the north and south rims.
     
    Wayne shows the results of a multi-decade personal project of photographing the stretch of Route 66 in Arizona between Kingman and Seligman including the buildings and people who remained after the opening of Interstate 40 bypassed the old national highway.
     
    Geri and Wayne Kodey are accomplished professional photographers. They also teach photography courses and lead photography field trips. They are owners of Casey's Cameras photography store in Las Vegas. The public is invited to the Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting and admission is free.     Lindsay Hebberd will present the program at the Nevada Camera Club July 10 General Meeting.     The Nevada Camera Club 26th Annual Photo Competition exhibition opening, artists' reception and multimedia presentation will take place at the Las Vegas Clark County Library District Whitney Library on Wednesday, July 14, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.     Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting, Linda Alterwitz presentation — June 12, 2009.
    Photographic artist Linda Alterwitz will present her Paths program at the Nevada Camera Club June 12 General Meeting. Her program illustrates the "paths" she has navigated in her evolution as a visual artist. Linda blends digital layers of diverse imagery. The layers are combined, moved and manipulated until the recognizable imagery in each piece has a dual sense of the abstract. The use of color and light creates a special depth that competes with the two dimensional surface of the prints. Linda's photographs have been exhibited in galleries throughout the United States.     Nevada Camera Club 20th Annual Slide Competition exhibition opening, artists' reception and multimedia presentation — June 12, 2003.
    The Nevada Camera Club 20th Annual Slide Competition exhibition opening, artists' reception and multimedia presentation will take place at the Las Vegas Clark County Library District Whitney Library on Thursday, June 12, 2003 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A multimedia presentation of all competition entries will be shown. Exhibition prints made from the first place slides in each category will be displayed in the gallery along with an exhibition of prints by Nevada Camera Club Photographer of the Year, Felipe Qui. The public is invited and admission is free.

The rules & entry blank will also be distributed in the April 2003 NCC Focal Expressions newsletter and at selected Las Vegas area photographic retailers. The competition is open to the general public and Nevada Camera club members. Anyone may enter and win.

    Nevada Camera Club Program Meeting — March 14, 2003.
    1. Brief presentation to the members of Nevada Camera Club by His Honor Oscar Goodman, City of Las Vegas Mayor.
    2. Introduction of new Epson photo quality inkjet printers by Epson America, Inc. representative Peter Sorenson.
    3. Selection of Nevada Camera Club member's transparencies for entry into Nature's Best International Photography Awards competition. NCC members should bring color transparencies on 35mm or larger film to the meeting. The transparencies must be mounted in 2" x 2" slide mounts. Super Slides will be accepted. Nevada Camera Club members attending the meeting will select up to 20 transparencies, with a maximum of 3 transparencies per member, for entry into the contest. The NCC entry will be judged by the contest sponsor as a portfolio with selection based on the overall excellence of the entire body of the entry. Please see the Focal Expressions March 2003 issue for details.
